oversaturated color as loud energy…or a scream
ornamentation and textured
maybe it’s better to create in ephemeral means sometimes
keeping my ear to the ground for all mentions of color lately
A pattern that gets dissolved
A collective that gets separated
A forced distance
Tension!
one note leads to the next
to use repetition in our work in some way or another
textured notes
loud colors
crunchy bass
bright sounds
similarity of working with ink on paper to music
once a note is played it can’t be taken back
"Phases and Stages"
title and phrase that appears
a recurring motif throughout
analog purist
in these wacky ass estates
Repetition via subtle color variations
mark-making techniques
a visual "home-base" of sorts
saturated stripes off a French magazine cover
grabbed off the internet
scan/document that quick painting/drawing
crop it, play with colors, & slightly alter in photoshop
thought our Lady in the swimsuit could use a little water to swim in
redraw that photoshop document in a hyper controlled way
carefully add color
take that drawing and make an applique fabric piece on it
a group which forms a large shape which communicates the result
the whole procedure can start and stop from any point
